One Year CT Scan- Great News!!!!

Casey came to New York this week for his one year post-treatment check up. He had a CT scan with contrast. The weeks leading up to the scan were pretty nerve wracking, as they always are leading up to a doctor's visit, but this time, Casey was pretty worried something might be wrong. When we got to the hospital after the scan was done, nurse Emily told us she didn't have the scan results, but Dr. M was checking them out at that very moment. Such suspense! She did her thing, did her interview/exam/etc, and went off to get the dr. Within seconds, she popped back in to say, "your scan was great!"

Phew! What a relief. We stared at each other and really just didn't know what to say. Then Dr. M came and told us he did not have the official report from the radiologist, but that from his reading, the scan looked great. He didn't see anything at all, and was really thrilled. He had lots of time for questions, so we took some time to ask him what were to happen if the Hodgkins G-d forbid came back, and what to do about Casey's sperm that he banked back in 2007, and things like that. Dr. M thinks we are a little crazy, but it was nice to have extra time with him to get all our questions out.

We left after making an appointment for September, when Casey will be in New York permanently (weird, huh!?). A few hours later, Dr. M called to let Casey know the radiologist report came back perfect. So exciting! We've been celebrating all weekend. Cheers to one year cancer free!!!
